Richmond, are you tired of waiting for August to get here so we can celebrate Virginia Craft Beer Month.  Virginia Tourism is just as excited as you and is throwing a kickoff party at Legend Brewing today July 25th starting at 4pm.  They’ve even extended you an invitation:

You have likely heard about Virginia’s reputation as a wine and culinary destination, but Virginia is also brewin’ up some award-winning, hand-crafted beers.  In fact, the Travel Channel just named Virginia as one of the top seven beer destinations.  This is great timing as this August Virginia craft breweries will have the spotlight all month long in Virginia during the first-ever August Virginia Craft Beer Month.

Bring a friend and get ready to share the love of Virginia craft beer with us on Wednesday, July 25 at 4p.m. at Legend Brewery for our Love on Tap: August Virginia Craft Beer Month kick off event. Get there right on time because the first 100 people to show up will score some free Virginia is for Lovers craft beer swag.

All attendees will have the chance to meet with some of Virginia’s craft brewers and get the scoop on the month’s theme, fun events, travel packages and more.

Cheers, hope to see you there!

Acacia Mexican Beer Dinner This Thursday

It’s fair to say I have no real love of Mexican food.  I mean my typical choice when I ate Mexican was limited to to fajitas. I know you’re saying, “but what about tacos?”  Tacos usaed to be the thing I fixed at home that I considered very simple that I never desired to have it out.

That being said you should check out Acacia Midtown’s Mexican Beer Dinner on Thursday July 19th.  Just as with their Goose Island dinner, the menu will be served throughout the night from 5:30 – 9pm.   Oh and before you knock Mexican beers, I’ve had Negro Modelo and Dos Equis Amber and was pleasantly surprised by both beers.  There’s no doubt the food will be top notch as well.  I for one am intrigued and may just be exposing myself to some new cuisine as I did at their last dinner. Hop spiced pate, anyone?!
