Petersburg, Your Time Has Come. Trapezium Brewing Grand Opening This Saturday.

Over the years, it must have seemed like every brewery that opened was based in Richmond. I have heard your wishes for a brewery closer to where you live. Last week was Chesterfield’s turn with the opening of Steam Bell Beer Works.

And now it is Petersburg turn in the spotlight with the grand opening of Trapezium Brewing Co this Saturday June 18th starting at noon.

Located in a former ice house, Trapezium Brewing boasts a 30 barrel brewhouse, 60 barrel fermenters, a 3.5 barrel pilot system, and a yeast propagation system.

Trapezium will have four core beers available for distribution–a Belgian White, IPA, Session IPA and Lemon Honey Ginger. Six packs should hit store shelves in July. Initial draft only options will include a Czech Pils and an American Wheat with peaches.

Just waiting on the bottling line.

Trapezium’s spacious bi-level tap room will seat 150 with more in the courtyard which will feature beers served from a 1950s houseboat.

Oh, did I mention the brick oven for serving pizza? Hmmm…maybe I should have led with that?!

Anyway. Beer and pizza. Best craft your own luck this Saurday, Petersburg!

Join Team Steam For Steam Bell Beer Works Grand Opening Today

20160606_205200.jpgSteam Bell Beer Works, Chesterfield’s first brewery, will open their doors for their grand opening today June 11th starting at 1pm. Steam Bell will have a mind boggling ten beers they will be serving throughout this weekend.

Here is a look at part of that list.

Here are a few interesting facts behind the three of the beer names:

  • Patchronce – Grisette with blackberries & raspberries.   Patch ronce is actually French for briar patch.
  • Southern Stubby – West Coast DIPA with Mandarina Bavaria, citra, and Nelson Sauvignon hops will be tapped on Sunday. Stubby is a term used for a squat (short) beer bottle in New Zealand.
  • Liège is a city in Belgium where the waffles are characterized by being sweet with vanilla and cinnamon and risen using ale yeast rather than baking soda.

The last two beers are collaborations with Three Notch’d and Adroit Theory.
