After Birthday Beer Brunch at Secco Wine Bar This Sunday

This is going to be a pretty awesome birthday weekend for me.  If Hardywood’s Bourbon Cru release on  Saturday was not enough, Sunday April 28th means it is time for another beer brunch at Secco Wine Bar.  Oh and there is soft shell crab on the menu.  Winning!

April Beer Brunch Menu
available 11AM – 3PM

house-made doughnut with lamplighter icing, almonds & cocoa nibs

smoked chorizo sausage on a toasted split-top bun with onions, peppers & cheesy scrambled eggs, served with a green salad

tempura soft shell crab benedict on buttermilk biscuits with Thai red curry hollandaise & grilled bok choy

smoked poblano pepper stuffed with “undirty” rice, over black beans with avocado cream, queso fresco, charred lime & eggs

pork sausage gravy & fried eggs over herbed buttermilk biscuits

chocolate chip pancakes with tart cherry compote, maple syrup & whipped butter, served with bacon and potatoes

veal meatballs with roasted mushrooms, fregula, tomato sauce & fried eggs

Devil Of A Beer Brunch At Secco This Sunday

Once again it is time for another beer brunch at Secco Wine Bar this Sunday FeBREWary 24th.  This is not like past beer brunches as it features a tap takeover from Devils Backbone, best small brewer in the US, as well as an almost completely new menu.  You should also know if you skip this beer brunch you will have to wait two months for the next one as the last Sunday in March is Easter.

Dancing with Myself 80’s Dance Party

COTU invites you out to rock the casbah at their 80s dance party.  So break out that old prom-wear and get groovy.  Doors open at 4pm with dance starting at 5:30pm.  Head over to the Facebook event for more information.

The Savory Grain Opening

The Savory Grain will be open for the beer lovers on Valentine’s Day.  The menu over on Richmond.com features several dishes with beer used in the preparation.  I’m definitely going to have to check this place out soon.  Here is a little of what will be flowing from their 24 taps tonight:

Sunday February 17th

Legend 19th Anniversary Party

Richmond’s oldest operating craft brewery celebrates nineteen years of production with a party starting at 2pm with  brewery tours all day and live music from Xtreme Groove at 6:30pm. General admission will cost $20 and include three food and beverage tickets. Under 21 admission is $12 (includes one food ticket). Admission for under 12 and designated drivers will be $5. Free admission for children under 5.  Extra food or beverage tickets will be $5 each.

Local Suds ‘Legend’ary Brew Tour

Take your love on a Sunday cruise to all of the Richmond area breweries tasting all along the way.  The tour culminates at Legend’s 19th Anniversary Party. Tickets for the tour are $47.50/person and include tastings at each stop as well as admission to Legend’s party. Go here to buy tickets or for more information.

Brighten Your Morning With Secco’s August Beer Brunch

Did last night’s storm leave you without power or the desire to cook this morning?  Well, Secco Wine Bar has exactly what you need in their August Beer Brunch menu today, Sunday August 26th.  I’m out of town today so I can’t make it myself. Last month I enjoyed their BLT for the first time and recommend you do the same.  Also if someone could get the breakfast sandwich with seared foie gras and let me know how amazing it’s sure to be.

Secco Beer Brunch Every Month Starting This Morning

Cupboards bare, struggling to figure out what to cook or just plain too tired to care this morning?  Then get a move on over to Secco Wine Bar because beer brunch is back today July 29th and returning the last Sunday of every month, at least for now.

Secco’s Beer Breakfast Goes Local

After the success of their first beer breakfast, Secco Wine Bar is doing another one Sunday May 6th.  This time Beer Breakfast 2.0 will feature a pin of Hardywood Mocha Belgique spiked with a pound of their house blend of Lamplighter coffee.  They will have Evil Twin Biscotti Break on hand as well.  That’s two great porters to go with Secco’s delicious food.  Oh, I had to look up just what Scotch eggs were; hard boiled eggs wrapped with meat (normally pork sausage), coated with bread crumbs and deep fried! Take look at the rest of the menu.

Secco Has Beer for Breakfast

This Sunday Secco Wine Bar is doing something a little out of the ordinary for them. Breakfast! Celebrating the arrival of a sixtel keg of Founders Breakfast Stout, they will be getting up a couple hours early to provide four a la carte breakfast selections.

Everything sounds quite delicious especially that French toast. I wonder if we can get them to use some of the stout in the batter.  Sounds like a foodgasm in the making.  Bell’s Expedition will be on deck for when the 41 pints of Founder’s is gone. Get more information here.
