Who Put A Donut In My Beer?

Strangeways Samoa PorterStrangeways and Sugar Shack, that’s who. Get a taste of their Samoa Porter this Saturday March 12th starting at 11am.

Sugar Shack founder Ian Kelley and Strangeways founder Neil Burton exhibit several parallels when it comes to their respective businesses. Travel around the United States and Europe first fueled their interest in establishing unique, local ventures guided by quality and passion. Producing fresh, hand-crafted products with local ingredients whenever possible is paramount to them, as is their understanding that the community is the heart and soul that connects people with what they love most about their town. We hope you enjoy this luscious, donut-inspired samoa porter, with decadent flavors of caramel, toasted coconut and dark chocolate. Ian and Neil would also like to personally thank all of the hard-working folks at Sugar Shack and Strangeways for everything they do on a daily basis to make fresh, local products like this one possible. Cheers to collaboration and community!

Snow’s Off. New Beers Back At Strangeways And Hardywood Today

That little blizzard delayed a couple of beer outings from last week but the soup’s back on as they say at Strangeways and Hardywood today Saturday January 30th.

Hinterlander Barleywine Release at Strangeways — 11AM

Strangeways Hinterlander

11% ABV~62 IBU
Available in 375 ml bottles + Draft

We’re also doing a special on CAN-ABLES just for Hinterlander. Take it to go in a 32 oz. Crowler and we’ll give you the CAN-ABLE for FREE!

Starving of Thirst

From a legend whose origins are traced to Native American Algonquian peoples come tales of an enormous creature known as the Wendigo. Possessing characteristics part human and part monster, these beasts were said to emerge from people indulging in the ancient taboo of cannibalism. These malevolent, supernatural beings possessed great spiritual power, and were strongly associated with winter, coldness, famine, and starvation. Embodiments of gluttony, greed, and sheer excess, these Hinterlanders were never satisfied after consuming a person, and were constantly on the prowl for fresh victims in attempts to quench their lustful, never-ending desires. This barleywine, aged a solid year in oak barrels with Black Mission figs, exudes similar powers, calling one on a hunt to quench an unstoppable thirst. Savor the debauchery that is The Hinterlander.

Tasting room opens at 2pm for Bourbon Sidamo Coffee Stout bottles (4 bottles per customer), draft, Lampligher Roasting Company on site sampling fresh pour overs, food from Shamasuki, Slideways Mobile Bistroand Smokie JOE’S BBQ.
