Did you catch Studio Two Three steamrolling map prints of Richmond at last month’s RVA Street Festival?  Well, head out to The Village Cafe tonight Wednesday October 2nd at 7pm for a tap takeover featuring a dozen Hardywood beers.  The Village will be donating a portion of beer sales to the studio’s nonprofit printmaking.  Check out some of the artists work on display and stay as they raffle off an eight foot map of Richmond made with a giant woodcut and a steamroller at the Street Art Festival.

Here are the beers to be tapped for the evening:

Singel
Dubbel
Quad
Russian Imperial Stout aged in Heaven Hill bourbon barrels
Raspberry Stout
RVA IPA
Farmhouse Pumpkin
Bourbon DIPA
Coconut Porter
Virginia Blackberry
Nitro Stout

Head out and raise a glass and money for the arts.  Check out the Facebook event for more information.

The Savory Grain Is Making Me Hungry With Their Virginia Craft Beer Month Photos

Apparently, we are all missing out on what Savory Grain has been cooking for Virginia Craft Beer Month.  Yesterday, they posted this Instagram of their menu board as they welcomed Blue Mountain Brewery for the night.

Both items sounded delicious but unfortunately I could not make it. Maybe I should have moved heaven & earth so I could have enjoyed this Blue Mountain Summer Haze Marinated Grilled Boar.

Scanning through the rest of the Instagram feed, I found they had two tasty dishes feature Legend Brewing on a day I almost made it to.

Legend Locomotive Lager Marinated Pork Chop

Legend Brown Battered Red Fish topped with a Cajun Creme Fraiche

Tonight, Wednesday August 14th, Savory Grain is hosting Strangeways Brewing for a tap takeover starting at 5pm.  I’m anxious to see what they will come up for the menu tonight.  Who’s with me?

Goose Island Invasion Landing At Rappahannock Tonight

Goose Island Vintage Glass4Please turn your attention to the photo on the right.  This Goose Island vintage stemmed glass has been an object of my desire since my New Year’s Eve dinner at The Magpie last year.  Since that time, an opportunity to steal said glass had not presented itself until today.

This afternoon Tuesday July 30, Rappahannock will be the site of a Goose Island tap invasion and steal the glass night.  If you want one of these glasses as much as I do, you better get a move on; there are only 50 available.

Here is what  will be flowing Rappahannock’s taps for the night:

Sofie
Sofie Paradisi — Sofie w/ grapefruit instead of orange peel
Matilda
Pere Jacques
Pepe Nero
The Illinois — Imperial IPA

I’m hearing there will also be some Chi-town inspired dishes coming out of the kitchen.  Sounds like it will be a fun night. Beers will be tapped at 4pm.
